GEORGE ZIMMERMAN CHARGED WIITH SECOND DEGREE MURDER IN THE DEATH OF TRAYVON MARTIN

Zimmerman's new lawyer is asking the public not to PREJUDGE George Zimmerman until ALL of the facts of the case are revealed.   He goes on to state, just as the public declared that it was wrong to PREJUDGE Trayvon for wearing a hood, it's equally as wrong to PREJUDGE  George Zimmerman until ALL of the facts are revealed.  

So, the question is, Has George Zimmerman already been JUDGED by the public and do you think he can get a FAIR trial, now that he has been charged with second degree murder?

      Hi Alexander. I guess we wish all of society could conduct themselves in a more civilized manner. Proudly boasting that the targets are big sellers does illustrate how much emotion this case has stirred up in people on both sides as well as how much hate exists in the world. Young people like yourself need to serve as stewards of the future who can express their emotions in a much more constructive manner rather than how the people in the article are depicted.

      I understand how you feel and shared your post with my class. The overwhelming opinion from my students was, why would someone ever want to profit off of such a crime. In poor taste...probably. That said, remember that your second amendment provides you with the right to bear arms. A lot of our county are passionate observers and protectors of this right. They are the ones who buy targets to shoot at and would fiercely defend their right to do so. My class concluded that race was less of the problem in this particular case rather the ease that guns are obtained. You are making terrific points. There are many layers here to peel back and discuss. This is how you solve problems in the world. Educated discussions with mutual respect for all parties. Keep up the great work!!

    Not only can Zimmerman be convicted of second-degree murder, but Zimmerman could also be found guilty of a federal hate crime charge.

    If convicted of second-degree murder, Zimmerman could serve a maximum sentence of life in prison. However, if he is found guilty of a federal hate crime charge, he could face the death penalty.

    "What the government would have to prove is that Mr. Zimmerman acted out of hatred toward African Americans," said WFTV legal analyst, Bill Sheaffer.
